Johnny's It

Johnny's It is a great song to introduce La in the elementary music classroom. It also helps students with aural listening skills and solo singing. First I teach the song to the entire class, then I will have the whole class sing the first two measures and have someone sing the solo "Hello who am I?" Once everyone has the tune in their head we play the game.

Game Instructions:

Have students make a circle and sit down.

Pick a student to be "Johnny" and have them close their eyes in the middle of the circle.

Silently pick a student to sing the "Hello who am I?"

Have students sing the song while "Johnny's" eyes are still closed.

Once the song is over have Johnny wake up and guess who sang.

Start over: Pick new people for "Johnny" and the solo.
