Apple Tree

Kodaly: Apple Tree is a great song to review ta titi and introduce Do. I usually use this in my 2nd grade music classroom.

Game:

Have students walk to the beat in a circle.

Pick two students to be the "tree". Have them hold hands and raise their arms to make the tree.

Have the "people" go under the tree while walking to the beat.

On the word out, the "tree" drops their arms (apples) and traps (knocks out) someone. That person is now added to the tree and it gets bigger.

If the tree does not get anyone then the person closest to the tree gets added.
